Musik machen in den Migrantenlagern - Making music in migrant camps
2013 wurde vom UNHCR der Artikel veröffentlicht: 'The arts in refugee camps: ten good reasons'. Von der Bedeutung, der Betreuung über Techniken der Ausbildung und des Lernens bis zur Vermittlung dienen diese Gründe dazu, Musikinitiativen von NGOs zu legitimieren. Die Begründungen beruhen auf Kategorien der humanitären Hilfe und nicht auf solchen des von den Flüchtlingen Erlebten. Die Sommerschule versucht gerade diese erwähnten Gründe in Frage zu stellen und die Blickrichtung umzukehren.

Workshop: Praxisansätze der Visaerleichterung für Kulturschaffende
(6. Juni 2014)

Auf Initiative der ARGE kulturelle Vielfalt lud die Österreichische UNESCO-Kommission in Kooperation mit IG BILDENDE KUNST und VIDC (Vienna Institute for International Dialogue and Cooperation) zu einem Workshop über die Visapraxis in verschiedenen EU-Mitgliedstaaten. Im Mittelpunkt stand der Austausch über Ansätze und Strategien der Zivilgesellschaft und Verwaltung zur Erleichterung der Einreichung und Abwicklung von Visaanträgen von Kunst- und Kulturschaffenden aus EU-Drittstaaten.

10 Jahre Bundesweite Koalition Kulturelle Vielfalt (22.-23. Mai 2014)

Unter dem Motto 'Vielfalt vielfältig feiern – 10 Jahre zivilgesellschaftliche Partizipation und Engagement' feierte die Bundesweite Koalition Kulturelle Vielfalt ihr 10-jähriges Bestehen im TECHNOSEUM - Landesmuseum für Technik und Arbeit in Mannheim.


Die zweitätige Veranstaltung konzentrierte sich auf Erfolge, Meilen- und Stolpersteine der Bundesweiten Koalition und der UNESCO-Konvention zur Vielfalt kultureller Ausdrucksformen (2005).

Birgit Ellinghaus leitete im Rahmen der Ideenwerkstatt 2024 als Themenpatin die Arbeitsgruppe zu 'Vorzugsbehandlungen für Künstler und Kulturschaffende aus Entwicklungsländern (Artikel 16)'.
